Session 1: Choose to be Empowered
Heather Hobbs Course ID: BMS1 Credits: 4 Time & Place: Monday, March 11th at 3:00pm in the Afton Montessori building Class Description: Thoughts can hold us back, but we can choose to change them! This class is a guide to recognizing the many thoughts we have every day and how we can direct these thoughts to empower our mind, words and actions. Limiting language can also be altered to words or phrases of empowerment which can positively effect actions and thoughts. In this class, I will be training participants on how to catch thoughts, words and actions as well as how to choose and change them to become empowering. We will be changing limiting language phrases such as "It's too hard" to empowering statements like "I will do my best." As these tools are practiced and used by class participants, they can, in turn, be observed, taught and implemented into a child's language starting from a very young age. |
Session 2: Power of Words
Heather Hobbs Course ID: BMS2 Credits: 4 Time & Place: Wednesday, March 13th at 3:00 pm in the Afton Montessori building Class Description: Words have a powerful impact on the physical body and mind. That impact can be made positive by adjusting body language and directing the words we hear and speak every day. In this course I will demonstrate the impact words have on the physical body using body language recognition examples. I will also train participants in the blocking and shielding techniques that protect the body and mind from verbal attack. These methods can be practiced, implemented and used daily by the class participants throughout their life. They are also methods that can be observed and integrated into a child's development from an early age. |
Session 3: Positive Impact
Heather Hobbs Course ID: BMS3 Credits: 4 Time & Place: Monday, March 18th at 3:00 pm in the Afton Montessori building Class Description: To what attention is given will thrive, for better or for worse. That attention can be influenced in a positive or negative manner. As the brain continually develops throughout a lifetime, it can be changed by many different influences. This course includes neurological brain training to support a deep foundation for self-worth. I will train how recognize the thoughts we give the most attention to and how to re-direct the thoughts we find damaging. I will also encourage and train in the why's and how's of celebrating the small but significant accomplishments, as well as declarations of worth. This training can impact a young child through to adulthood and creates a healthy mental awareness that supports self-esteem as well as self-accomplishment. |
Session 4: Creative Being
Heather Hobbs Course ID: BMS4 Credits: 4 Time & Place: Wednesday, March 20th at 3:00 pm in the Afton Montessori building Class Description: It is not always recognized as a natural human characteristic to be creative and to posses the ability to be organized. However, it is, indeed, embedded in our very character from the beginning of our existence. This course taps into creative zones including wholesome language, supportive body language, organization strategies and visual strategies to achieve goals. As all of these areas will be demonstrated as being intricately connected, I will be training in the implementation of these efforts to create self-accomplishment, and empowerment. This training can be implemented from toddler to adult and encourages goal achievement, order and creativity. |
